A Bad Day

Not for me, but for Justin certainly.   This metis, Fitz, I do not like him.   Or trust him.   It's true that were he a Shadow Lord, he'd likely not still be alive.   Given his actions and his lack of remorse, I am not certain that fate has entirely escaped him.    Rather blunt of Henry to invite me in in the midst of losing one of their others... even if I did consider coyote a viable option, that would give me pause.   Still, there's some small amount of sympathy for Justin.   I know what it's like to want to do your best and have it not work out despite your efforts.

Henry snorts and says, "And here I thought you had my back! Why are we packed again? If not to take the heat for each other on booty calls gone wrong?"

Laughing, Justin rolls his eyes upwards at the Gaian. "You know why we are packed. Sides, I make a terrible wingman." He carries his empty yogurt cup to the trash and lobs it in.

Steps creak softly as someone begins to descend them. A moment later Jenelle is peering into the kitchen; though she finds herself hesitating at actually stepping in.

Behind Jenelle, Fitz goes, "You're blockin' traffic, doll," in a lazy, smirky way.

Glancing toward the two new arrivals Henry grins and says, "Come on in guys, we're just shooting the shit over breakfast."

Justin looks over at the voice, eyes squinting at the sight of Jenelle and Fitz. He shifts his jaw a bit, then kicks out a chair at the table to make room. "Hey guys. What's going on?"

Jenelle startles slightly at the voice behind her, turning around as she sidesteps to give him room to get past. "I was just coming down for some water." Her gaze doesn't linger long on Fitz, and it barely reaches Justin at all.

Fitz grins crookedly as he shoulders past Jenelle to greet his packmates. "Hey, assholes, what's shaking?"

Henry shrugs and says, "Just talking about the important things that occupy the minds of Gaia saving garou everywhere... sex... women." He nods gravely before a grin splits his face and he chuckles.

There is a loud groan from Justin as he ambles to the fridge and opens it up. Taking out a bottle of water, he turns and makes his way to Jenelle and hands it out to her. "Here you go. Hey, Fitz, I think we need to have a talk about stuff."

Jenelle is still standing at the threshold to the kitchen when Justin offers the bottle of water to her. She glances up at that and offers a quiet, "Thank you." Henry's comment gets a sidelong glance from her though, and her eyes narrow slightly at the other.

Fitz rolls his eyes at Henry's statement. "Fuckin' monkeys." He slouches into a chair and cocks a lazy glance over at Justin.

Henry grins and shrugs, "A young man, caught up in all of the hormones that go along with the age, plus good looking women, what can you expect?" His eyes shift from Fitz to Jenelle and he grins and says, "I swear I am mostly kidding."

"You're welcome." Justin gives a smile to Jenelle before he turns and sits down at the table, drumming his fingers rapidly a few times along the table. With a deep breath, he asks, point blank, "Fitz, I am .. pretty worried about you and your behavior. I get the angry Garou thing, but, the other day, you leaped so far across the line you may as well been in another zip code. You could have got someone killed. I vouched for you, big time, to be apart of our pack. So that means I have to trust you, and you gotta trust me, and Henry, and Watcher. So, I gotta ask, is this like.. you lashing out because someone shit in your breakfast a few years ago, or do you just have supernatural tourrettes? Cuz', if it is the latter, I can work with it. Sorta... but if you are being a raging asshole because you got a death wish, that is a problem. I see value in you. I really do. But, I am also scared that you are going to lip off to.. I dunno, Emma or something. If Ghost was not there, I probably would have died trying to protect you from Viv."

Jenelle slowly uncaps the bottle as she watches the three men converse. She's still stopped right at the doorway though.

Fitz's reaction to Justin's lecture is mostly to look bored. "Babyballs, you ain't really seen me angry."

"But you are disrespectful to everyone for no reason at all, and you can't do that to higher ranking Garou and think they won't fuck you up. It also makes us look bad as a pack. We are coyotes, we are your brothers. If we are going to be assholes, we gotta do it to the Wyrm, not each other, and definitely not our Elders. I just want to know why you act like this. Are you upset at something or do you really just don't give a fuck if you live or die and you want to make people miserable around you?" Justin says with a loud sigh, rubbing a hand along his brow.

Henry shifts his gaze to Fitz and says, "Man, this is a real thing here. We are really concerned over it."

Jenelle looks toward Fitz as the impromptu session turns toward being solely on him. Thankfully, that bottle of water in her hands gives her something to both hold onto, and occasionally fidget with.

Fitz shrugs, utterly unconcerned. "Kid, you knew I was a shitbag from the first, and I'm not gonna apologize 'cause you put on some rosy blinkers, figuring maybe I was a nice guy after all. I'm not, and I ain't never been anything but honest with you about that. So you either deal with that or you decide you can't and kick me out, 'cause I ain't gonna change."

"That is not an answer, Fitz. I don't care that if you're a dick to me. Words just bounce off me cuz' I got thick skin, but my concern is you doing that shit to Garou of higher rank. I am not going to deal with that, nor will anyone else in this Sept. I get saying shit out of frustration, but you are doing it because you seem to get a personal kick out of it. What if Viv killed me that day on the porch? Would you have even cared?" Justin asks with a visible frown.

Fitz says, "Nope."

Justin frowns even more. "So you don't have our back?"

Henry narrows his gaze at Fitz and then says, "Then maybe it would be best if you just went your own way then. If you can honestly sit there and say that you dont give a damn about the other members in this pack, and you wouldnt have given a damn if Justin had died trying to protect your ass because you have some kind of chip on your shoulder, then maybe you aren't a fit."

Jenelle takes a step back now, very slowly and as subtly as possible. She doesn't, however, seem intent to remove herself entirely from the area.

Fitz just shrugs. "Later, then." He shoves his chair back, stands, and starts walking off like he doesn't give a shit.

Justin rises upwards qucikly from the table, causing it to jostle. His hands clamp down on the edge of it, digging his fingers into the woods as he stares at the other Garou with a look of whirling emotions upon his face. His cheek gives a visible twitch, then grinds his teeth backwards upon one another.

Jenelle hurries now to take another step back as Fitz gets up, her eyes still on him as he moves to leave.

Henry stands as well, but he doesn't seem as upset as Justin. He moves over to stand between Justin and the departing Fitz and says, "Don't bother man. He isn't worth it. If he doesn't have our backs or give a shit then let him go get fucked."

Justin glares holes into the Fianna's back as he walks out on them, and the pack. His breathing has picked up in his chest, in and out, in and out. His jaw becomes incredibly tense as he hears the door shut behind him. With a loud snarl in his throat, he grabs the table and yanks it up and to the side, whipping it a few feet away as it tumbles over.

Henry glances sideways toward Jenelle and chuckles as he says, "Care to join a pack?" He offers her a wink and then turns back to watch Justin, "It'll be alright man. We're better off without him. He was going to get us killed. Or else us try and save his ass and then him leave us to die."

Jenelle jumps as the table is upended, and she turns back to look at the two young garou in the kitchen. Her own jaw settles stiffly then, her shoulders drawing up into some semblence of confidence and she shakes her head. "You cannot turn a slug into a butterfly. Only a caterpillar, determined to one day fly, can change." If Henry's joking offer is heard, the Shadow Lord seems to have missed it in her daydream-like assessement.

Justin gives the table a hard kick, then storms for the back door as he works his shoulder in and out a few times. "I didn't want a butterfly, I just wanted him to say that he had our backs. I could deal with the rest. I don't care if he is an asshole. I just wanted to know that he was invested in what we believed in. Obviously I am a fucking idiot."

Henry frowns and says, "I don't know that anyone would confuse Fitz for a butterfly." He doesnt move to keep Justin from heading out, instead he simply watches with a slightly sad expression. Turning his eyes back to Jenelle he says, "Hey! I was serious. My name is Henry, Children of Gaia Philodox and alpha of Tactical Frivolity under Coyote. We're an umbral recon pack out of the city. Treasure hunters, search and rescue. You interested? As you can see... we just took a hit."

"Knock it off, Henry! You don't even know her name." Justin pushes the door open and heads out, slamming it behind him.

Jenelle jumps again as the Gnawer makes a retreat, and is left facing just Henry now. "I wasn't suggesting he was a butterfly. The moral of that analogy is that the slug has no desire to be anything but a slug. Honestly, if that boy is like that all the time, I'm amazed he hasn't been returned to Gaia already. He'd not have survived in my Sept. If he truly doesn't care about even those who chose to pack for him, what does that say about his duty to Gaia?"

Henry nods his head and says, "I agree whole heartedly. He was disrespectful to the spirits even on our quest." He looks Jenelle over closely and says, "And don't let coyote scare you off. I am a Philodox afterall. I know Coyote has a bit of a bad rep, but... you have to make a name for yourself around here somehow."

"I've not even settled my chiminage yet," she offers with a soft heh. "And speaking of names, Justin was right in that. I haven't introduced myself. Jenelle Moravec. Wrath's Hollow Storm. Cliath and theurge of the Shadow Lords. I go mostly just by Elle though."

Henry nods his head and says, "Nice to meet you Elle. Brings the Peace Between Brothers, or Peace Bringer is my deed name."

The back door opens up again and Justin heads inside, still looking steamed, but at least he is not on the verge of losing it in the middle of the kitchen. He heads to the table and picks it back up. He slides it back into place, then picks up his chair and sits down once more.

"Nice to meet you Henry." As Justin enters again, Jenelle is drawn to look in his direction. Her voice goes quiet, though she finally steps into the kitchen and, oddly enough, takes a seat at the table with her water.

Justin glances upwards to Jenelle as he slides his chin into the palm of his hand. "Sorry about earlier. I just.. am having a bad day I guess."
